Sea hares

Something I learned about sea gates are that they are snails without visible shells. They are part of the phylum mollusca. We found some mainly near rocky shores. They are also hermaphrodites, meaning they have both the male and female body parts.

When disturbed they squirt this purple liquid toxin.

These are egg strings that have have been laid by a sea hare.
